Laura brings an impressive track record of over 35 years in accounting, finance, and management within the dynamic landscape of commercial and residential construction in Houston, Texas. A seasoned entrepreneur, she has initiated and led multiple ventures, including companies in construction, consulting, and a web development firm that pioneered Houston’s first homebuilder website, an achievement recognized with the GHBA Prism award for marketing excellence.
i.e.Smart Systems is poised for second-generation growth, drawing on Laura’s wealth of knowledge, educational background, financial and strategic acumen, and a distinctive talent for unifying teams and optimizing processes.
Laura graduated Summa Cum Laude from Houston Baptist University with a BA in Accounting and Management. Additionally, Laura holds and maintains the CMA certification from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the CCIFP certification from the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Actively contributing to the processional community, Laura currently serves a two-year term on the board of the Houston CFMA chapter and will continue her involvement for the 2024-2026 term. She plays key roles in committees focusing on scholarships and the Lonestar Conference.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Laura and her husband embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, sailing the Caribbean for a year on a 60-ft sailboat, visiting 10 countries from the Florida Keys down to Antigua. Together, they have four grown children and six grandchildren who keep them busy and are now settled at home in The Woodlands, Texas with their two beloved boxers, Havana and Cooper.
